The SAT I (Scholastic Assessment Test) is required by US
colleges and universities. The purpose of the SAT is to
provide quantitative measures that are on the same scale
for every applicant.
Test structure
- 60 Math Questions
- Two 25-question sections to complete in 30
minutes each
- One 10-question section to complete in 15
minutes
- 78 Verbal Questions
- Two 30-36 question sections to complete in
30 minutes each
- One 10-13 question section to complete in 15
minutes
- A 30-minute Equating Section which may be either
Math or Verbal
- Total number of scored questions: 138
- Total Testing Time (approximate): 3 hours,
including Equating Section
Scoring
- SAT I is divided into two tests, Math and
Verbal, each scored separately.
- SAT Math scores range from 200 to 800.
- SAT Verbal scores range from 200 to 800.
- Scores Validity: SAT scores are valid for 5
years.
